Add Text to a PDF: Labels and Notes

Place new text over a PDF page without changing its original layout. This is useful for a missing date, a short review note or a label. Added text is a separate annotation; it does not replace or reflow the original paragraphs.

Open the PDF editor

Upload a PDF, add text, highlight details, place images, and keep edits moving in one focused workspace.

Place a short label

Upload your PDF, enter Edit mode and choose Text. Click the page where the label belongs, then edit its text. For a delivery form, add a short label such as Leave at reception beside the instructions field. Use separate text objects for the name, date and address so each can be aligned independently.

Match the page

Use the Font and Size controls and a readable text color. Switch to Select to move the label away from existing text. Zoom in for small fields, then review at normal size. If the label overlaps another line, shorten it or reduce its size rather than covering the original information.

Check the exported result

Save, sign in and download the PDF. Reopen it in a PDF reader to check alignment and characters. Scanned text remains an image, and MassPDF does not recognize it with OCR. If you need to rewrite a paragraph, edit the source document instead. See the step-by-step text guide for a practice example and export checks.
